Cтратегии формирования европейского образа жизни молодыми россиянами в Испании

Аннотация

Globalization promotes the conflicting processes of self-identification at both state and individual levels. Is Russia Europe, the part of Eurasia or the Special Civilization? The answer to this question is given at the level of both geopolitics and a daily life. The aim of this study is to identify and analyze strategies for constructing a European identity at the level of an individual way of life and lifestyle. To be a European means to live like a Europeans. The subject of empirical research is young Russians temporarily or permanently residing in Spain. The methodological basis of the study is a turn to existential everyday life and situational analysis. Research strategy is participating observation. The collection of empirical data was carried out using observation, in-depth interviews, secondary analysis of statistical data and normative documents, and participant observation. Within the framework of lifestyle, the construction of identity is as a set of objective opportunities and limitations of modern Spain. The space of objective opportunities is divided into levels (a) of pan-European sociocultural conditions (traditions, economic system, political, legal and administrative regulation of the European Union); (b) the conditions of the Spanish national space; (c) regional conditions; (d) local niches that open up the possibility of lifestyle free choice. Also, the construction of a European identity takes the form of a lifestyle freely chosen by an individual within the framework of objectively accessible conditions, based on personal taste preferences and worldview. As the result of empirical research, the following strategies were identified for constructing European identity through the practice of the image and style of organizing everyday life: (a) focus on the priority of the norms of the European Union; (b) Spainization; (c) Spanish regionalization; (c) Russian ghettoization in one form or another.
