Abstract

The motivational basis of labor activity is investigated on the base of a multidimensional approach. Labor, considered as a system of labor acts, events, combines financial functions (material), social functions and the function of self-realization and personal development. These functions-consequences are realized as a fact independent of the consciousness of the actor, manifesting themselves both in his authority and in his development as a professional. Motivation for labor activity is a complex system that is not limited to the attitude of an actor for a specific job in a particular organization. It synchronizes the attitude to work as a purposeful activity, the attitude to one’s profession, the attitude of the actor to a particular job. Different levels of generalization of attitudes towards work, being in close interaction, at the same time have autonomy and relative independence. The main theoretical ideas were empirically tested in the process of regression analysis of data collected during the online survey. They testify that in the conditions of transition from an industrial to a post-industrial society, the role of the leading factors of effective labor activity is gradually acquired by the commitment to the profession and the employee’s orientation towards self-realization and professional development.
