Techniques of the Body and Human Movements

Marcel Mauss introduced in social anthropology the concept of “technique of the body”, a unit of analysis of the human embodiment. Bodily movements, which constitute Abstracts these techniques, have many degrees of freedom. In a social context they have managing and manageable form, become habituses, often recognised as the gestures associated with images. In the article, these manifestations of human life-world are viewed through N. Bernstein’s psychophysiological theory of motion.
